Birding - Our escape
As many know I am an avid birder (have been since I was a kid) and started dabbling in bird photography in 2012. During the pandemic that interest went into overdrive. It helped that my son also got interested in birds and photography and it became the weekend family activity. I also switched to mirrorless cameras during this time, which opened up the opportunity to start shooting video as well. The opportunity to go out into nature, look for birds (and other wildlife) and take pictures is something that has become a wonderful escape from the world. Seattle is a great place to be into birding, especially in Spring, Fall, and Winter. The city itself and a number of locations within driving distance makes it easy to spend weekends getting some fresh air and taking a ton of bird photos. Many of our family vacations end up being birding vacations (Costa Rica, Point Reyes) and I suspect that will remain the case for a long time.
I’ve recorded a couple of vlogs from prior trips
